However, we are aware of the fact that illegal substances are used at festivals, despite the risks and consequences that may come with it. While we strongly discourage your use of them at our festivals, we are not here to judge you, but to help you if something goes wrong. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide a safe environment for everyone at all times.

If you decide to use prohibited substances during our festival, please remember the following:

In order to ensure that all participants can enjoy Hangar events and activities, Hangar is committed to creating a welcoming, safe, supportive and harassment-free environment for all participants, regardless of their gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, height, race, ethnicity, religion or other group identity.

This Hangar Code of Conduct outlines the standards for an event to be enjoyed by all visitors without being harassed or feeling unsafe. Everyone, including our staff, volunteers, security, partners, independent contractors and others such as artists, photographers and videographers are expected to cooperate. The event organisers will ensure that this is respected throughout the event.

Hangar expects all its event participants to communicate professionally and constructively, whether in person or virtually, to handle disagreements with courtesy, dignity and openness, to express their opinions with respect and to be open to other points of view. Similarly, Hangar expects that any information shared about the organisation or participants in an event via public communication channels will be communicated responsibly and with a clear distinction between individual opinion and fact.

If a participant, whether physically present or virtually, engages in inappropriate, harassing, abusive or destructive behavior or language, Hangar organizers will determine and enforce the appropriate course of action, such as warnings, expulsion from the event without refund and/or banning the offender from future Hangar events and activities. All participants are expected to abide by these rules and maintain appropriate behavior in all areas of the event. Violations will be taken very seriously.

+- What should I do if I see an aggression or someone feeling unsafe ?

Anyone who is a victim or a witnesses of an assault and/or inappropriate behaviour is strongly advised to report it right away to a Hangar staff member. Do this as well if you are feeling unsafe, not feeling well if you see someone feeling that way. In doubt, do it anyways.

Staff members are here to help you, not to judge you.

After the festival, we strongly recommend you to send your testimony of the incident at feelsafe@thehangar.be – This will help us to understand what happened and to avoid it at our next event.

+- What is Hangar's ear protection policy ?

You can get free earplugs at the Modus Vivendi stand.

We strongly recommend you to use earplugs during the festival. We always strive to find the right balance between a good sound system and a safe space for our guests’ ears. This balance can vary according to individual sensibilities. That is why free earplugs will be available at the bar and at the Modus Vivendi stand. If in doubt, use earplugs to avoid irreversible damage to your ears.
