+- What is our approach to sustainability?

At Hangar, sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s a commitment. Since our founding in 2018, we have actively worked to reduce our ecological footprint and enhance our social impact. From prioritizing the wellbeing and safety of our participants to managing waste responsibly, collaborating with local partners, and using reusable cups, we strive to make a positive difference.

That said, sustainability hasn’t always been at the forefront of our communication. Today, we are more aware than ever of the significant impact—both positive and negative—that events can have. That’s why we’re committed to using our events as a platform to inspire more sustainable behaviors. Together, let’s create unforgettable memories while respecting our planet and its people.

+- What actions are we taking to improve our impact on the world?

We acknowledge that we are not perfect, but we are committed to continuous improvement. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken so far and how we measure their impact:

Wellbeing and Security

We prioritize your safety and comfort by having a dedicated care and medical team available at every event.

Reusable Cups

To reduce waste, we comply with the ban on single-use cups by using reusable alternatives.

Reusable Materials for Communication and Scenography

Our events maintain a consistent visual identity by reusing specific scenographic elements, promoting sustainability.

Waste Management

We implement a sorting system for waste, available to both participants and staff, and ensure proper management by our dedicated cleaning team.

Social Support and Fundraising

Through initiatives such as hosting charity events like UnitedForUkraine, COVID-19 livestreams for hospitals and the Belgian Red Cross, and efforts like Opération Chaussettes, we strive to give back to our community.

+- What’s next?

We are currently working on accessibility, further waste reduction, increased social support and greener energy sources.
