Hangar Festival 2024

General Information

+- When will the Festival take place ?

Hangar Festival will be on the Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th April 2024.

+- What is the exact location ?

Heebeemkkaai/Quai de Heembeek, 1120 Brussels – Close to Docks Bruxsel shopping area. Access via the Chaussée de Vilvoorde 5 – Vilvoordsesteenweg 5.

 

+- What are the festival opening hours ?

Hangar Festival will be open :

  • Saturday from 12h00 to 00h00.
  • Sunday from 12h00 to 23h00.

+- Until what time can I get in ?

No entrance will be allowed after 20:00 on Saturday and 19:00 on Sunday.  No exceptions.

+- How to get there and back by ride-sharing ?

Collecto :

  • Collecto is a shared taxi service available 7 days a week between 11pm and 6am across the entire Brussels-Capital Region. This service is provided by a set of conventional taxis that group several customers wishing to travel together in the same direction.
    A temporary pick-up and drop-off point will be available at Hangar Festival at the following location Chaussée de Vilvoorde, 5 – 1120 Brussels.
    Rides are normally 6 euros, but with the promo code ‘XXX’ you get an extra 25% off your trip – valid from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the day of the event (only valid on bookings and payments via the Collecto app, and to and from the event).

+- Is there a minimum age ?

Yes, participants must be at least 18 years old to enter the festival. ID might be asked at the entrance so don’t forget to bring your ID, passport or driving license.

On-site Facilities

+- Is the festival wheelchair friendly ?

Yes, most of the festival has the necessary measures to accommodate wheelchair users. Certains spaces have limited accessibility. Please write an email info@thehangar.be to get more information about accessibility.

+- Will there be lockers on the festival ?

Yes, lockers will be available at the festival.

+- What are the payments methods in the festival ?

Payment can be made only be made through our Hangar App. To do so, you need to :

  1. Download the App
  2. Top-up your wallet
    • Buy some HNG tokens within the app using Apple Pay, Bancontact or credit card.
    • You can top-up your wallet now by entering the Hangar App on the web.
  3. Show your QR code
    • On the top right of your App, you will easily find your personal QR code. Note that the code is also available offline.

If you don’t have any smartphone, a top-up desk will allow you to add funds by credit card/Bancontact on a magnetic card.

If your phone runs out of battery, there will be a charging station within the festival.

+- Is the festival covered in case in of rain ?

Yes, 40% of the festival will be protected from the rain.

+- Can I eat inside the festival ?

Yes, 4 gourmet street food stands will be there to feed you. They offer vegan and vegeterian food as well.

+- Will there be wifi ?

Yes, a public wifi provided by Telenet will be available in the Festival Area.

+- How can I protect my ears ? Use Blox !

Even if we limit the decibels, think about your ears. If you want to use earplugs specifically designed for listening to music at concerts and festivals, our partner BLOX has what you need. Its BLOX Music model has a specially designed acoustic filter to enjoy authentic sound while protecting your hearing. It will be available for sale at the Merchandising stand. Free foam earplugs will also be available at the bars. We count on you to throw them in the bin and not on the floor.

Tickets - General Information

+- How can I buy tickets ?

You can buy tickets exclusively on our website the « Ticket » button or via this link. Make sure you only use these official ticketshops to buy/sell your tickets :

+- How many tickets can I order ?

You can buy a maximum of 10 tickets per order.

+- I can’t download my ticket. I only have an order confirmation ?

After completing an order with payment, you will receive an order confirmation from Paylogic (SeeTickets).

In order to avoid fraud and high resell prices, Hangar only allows Tickets Holders to personalize and download their tickets 2 weeks before the event. Before these 2 weeks, the only thing you get is an order confirmation. You will receive an email notification once the ticket is personalizable and downloadable.

+- What is ticket personalization ?

In order to personalize your ticket(s), you will receive a notification email when personalization is available (2 weeks before the event). This email provides a link and asks you to fill in personal information (such as full name, email address and date of birth of every attendee).

 

Ticket personalization is important in order to :

        1. Prevent and minimize ticket resale on the black market for a higher value.
        2. Maximize security by identifying attendees.

+- I can’t come anymore, where can I sell my tickets ?

You can buy or resell tickets via our official Ticketswap page. We recommend only using TicketSwap to avoid unwanted surprises such as fake or fraudulent tickets.

To sell your ticket on TicketSwap, you must use the Paylogic (SeeTickets) ticket received in a PDF format by email. These PDF tickets are generally sent out 2 weeks before the event.

It is not possible use the PDF ticket from the Hangar app.

If you run into any issues with tickets, please do not hesitate to contact us via info@thehangar.be.

+- I bought a ticket for Hangar but I can't find it in my mailbox.

You can receive your tickets purchased on Paylogic again by requesting it in this link.

It may happen that you cannot find the confirmation email of your order. This email contains the link to download or retrieve your e-tickets.

We recommend you to check your inbox thoroughly also including your “Spam” folder.

Note: The confirmation and follow-up emails are sent to the email address that was used to place the order. Therefore, in case you have not received the notifications, you can try checking your other usual email accounts. It may happen that you placed the order using a different email.

It is also possible to access your order by clicking on the ‘manage my tickets’ button in the confirmation mail or by clicking on the order in the order reminder mail.

+- I can't find my tickets or my email confirmation.

You can request your order confirmation and re-download your tickets by using this tool https://account.paylogic.com/i-lost-my-tickets

+- What happens if the event is cancelled ?

You can request a voucher of the value of your ticket to be used on future events.

+- Can I bring my own food and drinks inside the event ?

No, it is forbidden to take your own food and drinks inside the festival.

+- What objects/items are forbidden in the event ?

  • All kinds of flammable substances
  • Animals
  • Sharp and/or sharp items
  • Any Drugs or illegal substance
  • Weapons
  • Food and drinks
  • Professional photo/video
  • Pyrotechnic
  • Music speakers or any kind of sound system
  • We advise leaving any liquids at home (perfumes, deodorant, …).

+- Can I bring my own medication to the event ?

Yes, but do not take them in glass containers.

+- Can I smoke inside the event ?

Smoking is allowed on the festival site.

If any trouble happens to you, your friend or someone surrounding you, don’t hesitate to call the nearest staff or security member. If in doubt, do it anyway.

+- What is the Hangar's drugs policy ?

There is an absolute zero-tolerance policy in regard to the possession, sale, purchase or use of any drugs or illegal substance at the festival site and around.

 

However, we are aware of the fact that illegal substances are used at festivals, despite the risks and consequences that may come with it. While we strongly discourage your use of them at our festivals, we are not here to judge you, but to help you if something goes wrong. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide a safe environment for everyone at all times.

 

If you decide to use prohibited substances during our festival, please remember the following:

  • Make sure you are rested and feel good, both physically and mentally. Also make sure you have friends or family around you who will take care of you.
  • Do not use substances with which you are not familiar. Always look for its effects and side effects first.
  • Try to find out as much as you can about the quality of your substance. If you have any doubts, don’t try it.
  • Try to be as sure as possible that the quality of the product is safe and not mixed with any dangerous substance.
  • Determine your dose in advance and stick to it. Consider body weight and tolerance. Ask for advices to your friends if you don’t know how much is your limit.
  • Do not risk mixing different substances. Not with alcohol or any other substance.
  • During the festival, it is important not to tire the body and mind. Take a regular break from the dance floor.
  • We all know that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Please, for the sake of everyone’s safety, just don’t. If you plan to drink or use any substances, use take a taxi, Uber, Heetch or Bolt.
  • Stay hydrated, but don’t drink too much water to avoid water intoxication.

 

ABOVE ALL : Do not hesitate to contact a member of staff if you have any doubts about someone’s medical condition or your own. They are there to help you, not to judge you.

 

Modus Vivendi stand

There is a Modus Vivendi booth at the festival where you can get information about drugs. For information in advance, visit their website www.modusvivendi-be.org.

+- What is the expected behaviour ?

In order to ensure that all participants can enjoy Hangar events and activities, Hangar is committed to creating a welcoming, safe, supportive and harassment-free environment for all participants, regardless of their gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, height, race, ethnicity, religion or other group identity.

 

This Hangar Code of Conduct outlines the standards for an event to be enjoyed by all visitors without being harassed or feeling unsafe. Everyone, including our staff, volunteers, security, partners, independent contractors and others such as artists, photographers and videographers are expected to cooperate. The event organisers will ensure that this is respected throughout the event.

 

Hangar expects all its event participants to communicate professionally and constructively, whether in person or virtually, to handle disagreements with courtesy, dignity and openness, to express their opinions with respect and to be open to other points of view. Similarly, Hangar expects that any information shared about the organisation or participants in an event via public communication channels will be communicated responsibly and with a clear distinction between individual opinion and fact.

 

If a participant, whether physically present or virtually, engages in inappropriate, harassing, abusive or destructive behavior or language, Hangar organizers will determine and enforce the appropriate course of action, such as warnings, expulsion from the event without refund and/or banning the offender from future Hangar events and activities. All participants are expected to abide by these rules and maintain appropriate behavior in all areas of the event. Violations will be taken very seriously.

 

+- What should I do if I see an aggression or someone feeling unsafe ?

Anyone who is a victim or a witnesses of an assault and/or inappropriate behaviour is strongly advised to report it right away to a Hangar staff member. Do this as well if you are feeling unsafe, not feeling well if you see someone feeling that way. In doubt, do it anyways.

 

Staff members are here to help you, not to judge you.

 

After the festival, we strongly recommend you to send your testimony of the incident at feelsafe@thehangar.be – This will help us to understand what happened and to avoid it at our next event.

Tokens & Refunds

+- How do tokens work ?

Using the Hangar app, you are given a virtual wallet. You can top-up this wallet using various payments methods.

The currency of this wallet is HNG tokens. Virtual tokens created specifically for Hangar events.

+- How much is 1 HNG ?

1 HNG = 3,80€

+- How much does it cost to top-up ?

When you pay by debit card or credit card at the bar, you pay a fee for every transaction.

With the Hangar wallet, you only pay every time you top-up. So if you only top up once for the entire event, you only pay a fee once.

The fee is 0,29€ per top-up.

+- How long are tokens valid ?

Tokens are valid for 6 months after the date of purchase and must be used within this period. If not used within this 6-month period, these tokens will automatically disappear from your app.

HOWEVER, wallets must also be reset and set to zero at the end of each fiscal year (31st December of each year).

+- Can I get a refund if I don't use all my tokens on my Hangar app ?

Yes.

We open token refunds 72 hours after the end of the event for a 1 week period.

Refunds only work on top-ups made in the last 30 days. Refunds will not work for previous events if they are not within the last 30 days.

It costs 1,90€ per refund.

+- I don't have a smartphone. Can I still pay at the bar?

Physical top-up cards are available for purchase if you do not have a smartphone. They cost 1,90€ per card.

+- Can I get a refund if I don't use all my tokens on my physical top-up card?

You need to link your physical top-up card to the Hangar app or the Hangar web app to request a refund. This only works with cards that have a QR code on them.

Eco-Cups

+- Do I have to pay for an eco-cup ?

Yes, the cost of an eco-cup is 0,3 HNG = 1,14€.

It’s not a deposit, it is a rental cost. You only pay for your first cup and it will be replaced for free when you buy a new drink.

+- What is the eco-cup policy ?

If you do not bring it back, you will need to pay the rental fee again.

You can not bring back multiple cups and exchange them for tokens. For example, if you bring 3 cups but only order 2 drinks, only 2 cups will be deducted on your order.
